Conference Theme

Abstract

The ISRCL 2022 Conference focuses on sentencing, corrections and innovative approaches to criminal justice. The theme “Thinking Beyond the Bars” encompasses new visions for resolving criminal law problems, including:

  • Specialized courts: Indigenous courts, mental health courts, drug courts, community courts
  • The use of neuroscience, artificial intelligence and genetics in the sentencing process
  • Youth justice sentencing
  • Role of police and diversion
  • Victims’ rights
  • Implicit bias in sentencing

The conference will appeal to anyone who works in the administration of or who is interested in criminal justice.

The Sutton Place Hotel

Conference delegates need to book hotel rooms prior to Friday, June 17, 2022 in order to secure a room at the conference rate of $289 CAD per night. Availability is based on a first come basis for rates within our room block at the conference rate. Changes or cancellations must be confirmed with the hotel’s reservations department 48 hours prior to the arrival date in order to avoid a penalty of one night’s room and tax.
