Kathy Sorochan

The ISRCL Honours Kathy Sorochan

As an expression of the Society's gratitude for Kathy’s long and faithful service, Vancouver-area members of the Society's Board of Directors, past and present, gathered to honour Kathy at a dinner held in downtown Vancouver in December 2018. Photos of the event are below.

In conjunction with that dinner, I am very pleased to announce that the Don Sorochan Scholarship, established through the International Centre for Criminal Law Reform and Criminal Justice Policy (ICCLR), has been renamed the “Don and Kathy Sorochan Scholarship”. The Scholarship will continue to provide much-needed financial support to criminology students at Simon Fraser University and law students at the University of British Columbia – the Centre’s two sponsoring universities. The Scholarship Fund will continue to be used to support the work of the Centre in the areas of international criminal law, criminal law policy and criminal law reform.

You may make a donation to the newly renamed Scholarship Fund by clicking the donate button PayPal - The safer, easier way to pay online!

Donations may be made by using AMEX, Visa and MasterCard.

Donations to the Sorochan Scholarship may also be made by cheque payable to International Centre for Criminal Law Reform and Criminal Justice Policy and addressed to as follows:

International Centre for Criminal Law Reform and Criminal Justice Policy

1822 East Mall, Vancouver BC, Canada V6T 1Z1

Receipts will be issued to all donors. Donations to all Canadian taxpayers are deductible for tax purposes. Please note that tax authorities outside Canada may not recognize contributions made to a foreign charity.

Your financial contribution to the Sorochan Scholarship will be a fitting tribute to the unparalleled work of Kathy and Don Sorochan in ensuring the continued success of the International Society for the Reform of Criminal Law.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I wish to personally thank Kathy for her enormous contribution to the work of the Society.

I look forward to seeing all of you in Brisbane in 2019!
